He assessed the entire house, gave me options and clearly explained the process. Everyone from Mike, to the secretary in the office to the workers were absolutely amazing. They did the work as promised, gave us a reasonable price, and left the place immaculate. We could not be happier with the results! This is a great family owned business. You can’t go wrong!Posted on Google rose smithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The work was done with the utmost professionalism and competence. Mark took it upon himself to come to my home and examine my issue himself. He is knowledgeable not only in basement waterproofing, but also in land grading, excavating and several other adjacent topics. While it was concluded my issue was not foundation oriented, he did not hesitate to propose several other creative ideas to help address my issue. He has a great disposition, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others.Posted on Google Linda RussoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I bought my house 24 years ago, and for 24 years I lived with water coming in to my finished basement. A few years back I hired another company to put in a French Drain System which never worked. As the storms got worse the water in my basement increased. Because of my previous experience I was hesitant to hire another company until I read about ACM and met Mark who was highly recommended by my Home Service Company. Mark spent about 2 hours explaining the process, and what was needed. In February 2025 ACM put a extensive French Drain System which included taking down the sheet rock walls, demoing tile and placing a membrane along the whole perimeter of the drain system. All of this work was completed in 3 days exactly what Mark said. The guys were professional, polite, and best of all they were careful to save my Radiant Heating System which was under the tile. Since the French Drain System was placed I have not had 1 drop of water coming into my basement. I am very grateful to Mark's ACM Company, and was able to refinish my basement without fear of water damage. I highly recommend ACM Basement Water Proofing to all who are having water problems with their basement.Posted on Google Maria LacosteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose ACM because of their "Best of Long Island" award, and I'm glad I did. Mark's crew (led by Joe) installed an interior French drain and a sump pump in our basement. Six months later, we've had no problems with water. These guys know what they're doing.Posted on Google Links2282Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I would like to say thank you to Mark and his team for their excellent work installing a French Drain in our finished basement. For years we had to worry about flooding if we got a large amount of rain in a short time. The entire staff was totally professional. knowledgeable, competent and efficient. They were clean and caring and after each day they protected the whole worksite. Without a doubt, we would recommend them for all your basement waterproofing needs.Posted on Google Peter WebbTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called acm after finding water in the basement. Mark answered the call and quickly helped diagnose the issue. He guided me to check baseboard and sure enough a broken valve was causing this leak. It's good to find someone to help a homeowner without rushing to take their money. It's good to find a honest business man
Basement Water Solutions
While a musty basement may seem normal in Long Island, it shouldn’t. Basement moisture breeds water damage, rot, and mold. Mold especially is a problem. Airborne mold spores can travel through your home, triggering allergies and asthma for you and your family.
To prevent these problems, you need to control the moisture in your basement to create a healthy environment – you need to control the air circulation in your basement.
ACM Basement Waterproofing installs professional basement ventilation systems for homes and businesses in Long Island, controlling air circulation and reducing basement moisture to maintain a healthy home for you and your loved ones. Moisture and mold can build up in unkempt basements. But why is that? And does it matter? Let’s take each question in turn.
One of the primary reasons you have basement moisture is the Stack Effect. The stack effect results from thermal differences in your Long Island home – higher-temperature air is less dense than cool air.
The less dense, warm air rises, leaving behind a pressure difference, with higher pressures in the attic of your home and low pressures in your basement.
The low-pressure basement space attracts air, pulling in cool outside air through your basement entryway and windows, filling the low-pressure space. But, this cool air warms as it enters your Long Island basement, rising up through your home, leaving a low-pressure difference in the basement, attracting more cool outside air.
This cycle continues with warm air moving up through your house and cool outside air entering your basement. This cycle is the stack effect. The issue with the stack effect and cool outside air in your Long Island basement is the moisture that it brings.
The air from outside is humid (it carries water), and when it comes in contact with your cold basement walls, the water vapor in the air condenses into moisture, forming water droplets on the walls and floors of your basement. A serious problem for your Long Island home.
This basement water can cause rot, mold, and foundation damage. And, even without condensation, moist air can cause damage to appliances, furniture, and other materials in your basement.
In addition, the resulting mold can cause allergic reactions and even be life-threatening in the case of black mold.
But Long Island basement ventilation systems limit the excess moisture in your basement, keeping your basement air clean, breathable, and moisture-free.
We make it simple, affordable, and stress-free — with guaranteed results.
To control basement moisture, you need to maintain a neutral pressure level (NPL). A neutral pressure level in your home exists when the pressure in and outside is the same. This neutral pressure eliminates the stack effect cycle, preventing moist, cool outside air inflow into your basement.
ACM, serving Long Island, installs the EZ Breathe Ventilation System to achieve a neutral pressure level and improve your home’s air quality through whole home air exchange. The ventilation system expels dirty basement air and introduces existing clean, dry air from upstairs.
The system keeps out the poor outside air and allows your home’s existing heating and air conditioning system to address the basement. The result is a cleaner, healthier living environment for you and your loved ones.
The EZ Breathe Ventilation system is installed along one of your basement walls with a louvered exhaust vent mounted outside your home – like a dryer vent. The system comes with a set-it-and-forget-it panel with fan speed and humidity settings. The installed system replaces the closed-loop system with efficient air circulation.
Most Long Island homes have a closed-loop system. In a closed-loop system, the same air is recirculated repeatedly in your home. This recirculation creates contaminant buildup and can produce odors, moisture, and allergens, all of which can be hazardous to your health.
EZ Breathe avoids this recirculation with an exchange of air, creating a healthier atmosphere, expelling harmful basement air, and replacing it with healthy upstairs air. The EZ Breathe system:
With an EZ Breathe and basement waerproofing system, your Long Island home air is kept clean, and your basement is kept safe from excess humidity and moisture.
Left to run amok, humid basement air can spell disaster for your Long Island home. The EZ Breathe ventilation system protects your basement and home, keeping the air clean and healthy and your basement free of moisture and mold. We are Long Island’s basement ventilation company
