He assessed the entire house, gave me options and clearly explained the process. Everyone from Mike, to the secretary in the office to the workers were absolutely amazing. They did the work as promised, gave us a reasonable price, and left the place immaculate. We could not be happier with the results! This is a great family owned business. You can’t go wrong!Posted on Google rose smithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The work was done with the utmost professionalism and competence. Mark took it upon himself to come to my home and examine my issue himself. He is knowledgeable not only in basement waterproofing, but also in land grading, excavating and several other adjacent topics. While it was concluded my issue was not foundation oriented, he did not hesitate to propose several other creative ideas to help address my issue. He has a great disposition, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others.Posted on Google Linda RussoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I bought my house 24 years ago, and for 24 years I lived with water coming in to my finished basement. A few years back I hired another company to put in a French Drain System which never worked. As the storms got worse the water in my basement increased. Because of my previous experience I was hesitant to hire another company until I read about ACM and met Mark who was highly recommended by my Home Service Company. Mark spent about 2 hours explaining the process, and what was needed. In February 2025 ACM put a extensive French Drain System which included taking down the sheet rock walls, demoing tile and placing a membrane along the whole perimeter of the drain system. All of this work was completed in 3 days exactly what Mark said. The guys were professional, polite, and best of all they were careful to save my Radiant Heating System which was under the tile. Since the French Drain System was placed I have not had 1 drop of water coming into my basement. I am very grateful to Mark's ACM Company, and was able to refinish my basement without fear of water damage. I highly recommend ACM Basement Water Proofing to all who are having water problems with their basement.Posted on Google Maria LacosteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose ACM because of their "Best of Long Island" award, and I'm glad I did. Mark's crew (led by Joe) installed an interior French drain and a sump pump in our basement. Six months later, we've had no problems with water. These guys know what they're doing.Posted on Google Links2282Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I would like to say thank you to Mark and his team for their excellent work installing a French Drain in our finished basement. For years we had to worry about flooding if we got a large amount of rain in a short time. The entire staff was totally professional. knowledgeable, competent and efficient. They were clean and caring and after each day they protected the whole worksite. Without a doubt, we would recommend them for all your basement waterproofing needs.Posted on Google Peter WebbTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called acm after finding water in the basement. Mark answered the call and quickly helped diagnose the issue. He guided me to check baseboard and sure enough a broken valve was causing this leak. It's good to find someone to help a homeowner without rushing to take their money. It's good to find a honest business man

Basement encapsulation is an essential part of waterproofing your Long Island home, protecting it from moisture damage. By lining your basement walls with a vapor barrier, encapsulation seals water and moisture, trapping it safely in your French drain, keeping your basement dry and your property safe.
ACM Basement Waterproofing provides basement encapsulation for homeowners across Long Island, including Suffolk County and Nassau County. Call us today for a free inspection and quote.

Basement encapsulation is the process of installing a vapor barrier along the interior walls of your basement. The barrier creates a sealed layer between your foundation and the living space, capturing any moisture that enters through the walls and directing it away before it can cause damage.
You may hear encapsulation referred to by other names, including basement wall wraps, foundation liners, or moisture barriers. They all describe the same concept: lining the walls to control water and moisture at the source. For Long Island homeowners, encapsulation is part of keeping basements dry and protected year round.
ACM encapsulates Long Island basements using a dimple board system. The dimple board is a rigid, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane with a raised dimple pattern on its surface.
The board is installed directly against your basement walls, up to grade level or wherever water issues are present. The raised dimples create a small air gap between the board and the foundation wall. Any water that seeps through the foundation is captured in this gap and channeled downward by gravity, draining directly into the French drain at the base of the wall.
ACM’s dimple board is available in white or grey to match your basement walls. The result is a clean, uniform look that blends with the rest of the basement rather than standing out.
Long Island’s soil conditions and water table make basements particularly vulnerable to moisture. Seasonal rain, snowmelt, and fluctuating groundwater levels all create hydrostatic pressure against your foundation walls. Over time, that pressure forces water through concrete, block, brick, and stone, regardless of how solid the walls appear.
Homes across Suffolk County and Nassau County face these conditions regularly. Without encapsulation, moisture enters your basement freely. It damages stored belongings, promotes mold growth, degrades air quality, and can compromise structural materials like wood framing and floor joists.
Encapsulating your basement walls puts a permanent barrier between your foundation and the interior space, giving you control over moisture instead of reacting to it.
Basement encapsulation is part of a broader basement waterproofing project. The dimple board captures and directs water, but it works alongside other components that manage the water once it reaches the base of the wall.
A French drain installed beneath the basement floor collects the water channeled down by the dimple board. The French drain then routes that water to a sump pump, which pumps it up and out of the basement entirely.
Together, encapsulation, French drains, and sump pumps form a complete interior waterproofing system. Each component handles a different stage of water management, from capture to collection to removal. ACM designs these systems specifically for Long Island homes and the moisture challenges that come with them.

Not every sign of moisture in a Long Island basement is obvious. Some homeowners notice standing water or visible leaks, but many of the warning signs are more subtle. If you notice any of the following, your basement may benefit from encapsulation:
Water stains or discoloration along the base of your walls. White, chalky deposits on the concrete surface (efflorescence), which indicate that water is moving through the wall and leaving mineral residue behind. A persistent musty smell, even when the basement appears dry. Damp or cool walls to the touch. Mold or mildew on walls, stored items, or floor joists. Peeling paint or deteriorating wall coatings. A dehumidifier that runs constantly without keeping humidity under control.
Any of these signs suggest that moisture is entering through your foundation walls and that encapsulation should be part of your waterproofing solution.
Encapsulation refers specifically to lining your basement walls with a vapor barrier. Waterproofing is the broader system that includes encapsulation along with French drains and a sump pump to manage and remove water. Encapsulation is one part of a complete waterproofing system.
Yes. Encapsulation protects your Long Island home from mold, structural damage, poor air quality, and damage to anything stored in your basement. It is especially valuable if you plan to finish your basement, since moisture behind walls will destroy drywall, framing, and other finish materials.
ACM’s dimple board encapsulation system is made from high-density polyethylene, a material built for long-term durability. When installed as part of a complete waterproofing system, it is designed to last for the life of the home.
A French drain collects and removes water at the base of your walls, but it does not stop moisture from entering through the wall surface above. Encapsulation captures that moisture before it reaches your basement and directs it down to the French drain. The two systems work together for complete protection.
