He assessed the entire house, gave me options and clearly explained the process. Everyone from Mike, to the secretary in the office to the workers were absolutely amazing. They did the work as promised, gave us a reasonable price, and left the place immaculate. We could not be happier with the results! This is a great family owned business. You can’t go wrong!Posted on Google rose smithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The work was done with the utmost professionalism and competence. Mark took it upon himself to come to my home and examine my issue himself. He is knowledgeable not only in basement waterproofing, but also in land grading, excavating and several other adjacent topics. While it was concluded my issue was not foundation oriented, he did not hesitate to propose several other creative ideas to help address my issue. He has a great disposition, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others.Posted on Google Linda RussoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I bought my house 24 years ago, and for 24 years I lived with water coming in to my finished basement. A few years back I hired another company to put in a French Drain System which never worked. As the storms got worse the water in my basement increased. Because of my previous experience I was hesitant to hire another company until I read about ACM and met Mark who was highly recommended by my Home Service Company. Mark spent about 2 hours explaining the process, and what was needed. In February 2025 ACM put a extensive French Drain System which included taking down the sheet rock walls, demoing tile and placing a membrane along the whole perimeter of the drain system. All of this work was completed in 3 days exactly what Mark said. The guys were professional, polite, and best of all they were careful to save my Radiant Heating System which was under the tile. Since the French Drain System was placed I have not had 1 drop of water coming into my basement. I am very grateful to Mark's ACM Company, and was able to refinish my basement without fear of water damage. I highly recommend ACM Basement Water Proofing to all who are having water problems with their basement.Posted on Google Maria LacosteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose ACM because of their "Best of Long Island" award, and I'm glad I did. Mark's crew (led by Joe) installed an interior French drain and a sump pump in our basement. Six months later, we've had no problems with water. These guys know what they're doing.Posted on Google Links2282Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I would like to say thank you to Mark and his team for their excellent work installing a French Drain in our finished basement. For years we had to worry about flooding if we got a large amount of rain in a short time. The entire staff was totally professional. knowledgeable, competent and efficient. They were clean and caring and after each day they protected the whole worksite. Without a doubt, we would recommend them for all your basement waterproofing needs.Posted on Google Peter WebbTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called acm after finding water in the basement. Mark answered the call and quickly helped diagnose the issue. He guided me to check baseboard and sure enough a broken valve was causing this leak. It's good to find someone to help a homeowner without rushing to take their money. It's good to find a honest business man
Basement Water Solutions
Your foundation needs to remain strong to support your home. Unfortunately, shifting soil, hydrostatic pressure, and other issues can cause foundation damage, putting you and your family at risk.
If you are facing foundation damage, you don’t have to face it alone. ACM Basement Waterproofing provides reliable, trusted, and proven foundation repair services to homeowners throughout Suffolk and Nassau counties.
We make it simple, affordable, and stress-free — with guaranteed results.
When you are looking for a Long Island foundation repair company to handle your foundation problems – your first question is, what caused my foundation repair problems?
Foundation damage can be caused by issues like tree roots infiltrating the foundation wall, a settling foundation causing uneven shifts in pressure on the basement floor and walls, and simply aging concrete. But, one of the most common issues we encounter with Long Island foundation issues is hydrostatic pressure.Hydrostatic pressure is the lateral pressure caused by water in the soil surrounding your foundation. During heavy rains or melting snow, water seeps into the soil.
As the water seeps down, the soil expands. When the expanding soil comes into contact with your foundation walls, it exerts pressure on them. Given enough time, even the strongest foundation walls will start to give out against the onslaught of hydrostatic pressure.
As your foundation walls begin to weaken, they will shift, bowing inwards in the middle, tipping or leaning from the top, or shearing near the bottom in the case of CMU (concrete block) or brick walls. As the walls weaken further, they continue to shift, leaving telltale cracks that indicate the underlying problem.
Homeowners throughout Long Island experience cracks in their basement walls, but some are more significant and potentially dangerous.
Hairline Cracks
Hairline cracks in your basement walls, also called shrinkage or spiderweb cracks, occur naturally in poured concrete or CMU walls and are simply a result of the concrete aging. They occur most often in newly built homes.
Vertical Cracks
Vertical cracks are most often found in poured concrete walls and are generally considered normal, but multiple vertical cracks running parallel or expanding can be a cause for concern.
Both hairline and vertical cracks are common in Long Island basement walls. Unless you notice the cracks expanding or growing more extensive, they are less a cause for concern than horizontal or stair-step cracks, which require a Long Island foundation repair contractor.
Horizontal Cracks
Horizontal cracks result from external pressure against your basement walls, causing them to bow inward. You can also see these cracks, such as basement walls tipping or shearing. Vertical cracks will likely grow larger, often letting water leak into the basement.
Stair-Step Cracks
Stair-step cracks run along the blocks in CMU or brick wall fascias, damaging the mortar joints holding the block walls together.
Both horizontal and stair-step cracks are more severe issues that will likely continue to grow – you need to call a Long Island foundation repair company.
We make it simple, affordable, and stress-free — with guaranteed results.
One of the most significant facts homeowners often miss is that foundation problems worsen over time.
If you see cracks in your foundation walls, especially horizontal or stair-step cracks, you must call a Long Island foundation repair expert. If left ignored, your foundation will continue to weaken, and the cracks will grow larger.
Eventually, the walls will be at risk of collapse. At that point, you will likely need to pay for a foundation replacement company to visit, and foundation replacement is incredibly expensive.
Instead of risking collapse and paying hefty fees to replace your foundation, you are much better off tackling the problem as soon as possible by having a foundation repair company, like ACM, visit your Long Island home to correct the issues before they get out of hand. It will save you time, stress, and money in the long run.
We provide minimally invasive but effective foundation repair solutions in Long Island, helping homeowners in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
ACM installs carbon fiber straps to strengthen your foundation walls and prevent further damage. Carbon fiber is stronger than steel, and the straps provide a quality foundation repair solution without creating an eyesore in your basement.
One of our Long Island foundation team pros installs the foundation straps vertically flush against your basement wall. As external hydrostatic pressure pushes against your basement walls, the vertical straps absorb the pressure, redirecting it so your basement walls can no longer shift.
With the carbon fiber system completely installed, your foundation is kept strong and your walls in place, preventing foundation wall bowing, leaning, or shearing.
For Long Island homes with bowed, sheared, or tipping basement walls, ACM installs ICC-Building Certified Fortress Stabilization Systems to deliver a complete, lasting fix.
Fortress Stabilization Systems are the result of more than 20 years of engineering and testing, built to anchor your wall securely from top to bottom. Think of it like a seat belt: just as a belt holds you firmly in place, the Fortress top and bottom anchors hold the carbon fiber straps tight against your wall, keeping it stable and your Long Island home protected.
When you have ACM install Fortress carbon fiber straps in your basement, your foundation repair is done once and done right.
Invisibeam is the carbon fiber strap system made by Fortress Stabilization Systems. This composite reinforced foundation system is available only through Fortress and is backed by a lifetime warranty. The ICC certified system stops bowing and tipping for good, and it never needs maintenance.
What Does ICC-Building Certified Mean?
Fortress Stabilization Systems carbon fiber straps carry ICC-Building Certification. That means the straps have gone through accredited testing and been proven effective, so your Long Island basement repair passes building code inspection without a problem.
Fortress earned its ICC-ES certification through a demanding testing process carried out by an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory at the University of Miami’s Structures and Materials Laboratory.
