He assessed the entire house, gave me options and clearly explained the process. Everyone from Mike, to the secretary in the office to the workers were absolutely amazing. They did the work as promised, gave us a reasonable price, and left the place immaculate. We could not be happier with the results! This is a great family owned business. You can’t go wrong!Posted on Google rose smithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The work was done with the utmost professionalism and competence. The service representative was very thorough in examining the dehumidifier, air purifier and sump pump and provided any service needed including draining the pump.Posted on Google Craig TodaroTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Mark took it upon himself to come to my home and examine my issue himself. He is knowledgeable not only in basement waterproofing, but also in land grading, excavating and several other adjacent topics. While it was concluded my issue was not foundation oriented, he did not hesitate to propose several other creative ideas to help address my issue. He has a great disposition, and I would not hesitate to recommend his services to others.Posted on Google Linda RussoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I bought my house 24 years ago, and for 24 years I lived with water coming in to my finished basement. A few years back I hired another company to put in a French Drain System which never worked. As the storms got worse the water in my basement increased. Because of my previous experience I was hesitant to hire another company until I read about ACM and met Mark who was highly recommended by my Home Service Company. Mark spent about 2 hours explaining the process, and what was needed. In February 2025 ACM put a extensive French Drain System which included taking down the sheet rock walls, demoing tile and placing a membrane along the whole perimeter of the drain system. All of this work was completed in 3 days exactly what Mark said. The guys were professional, polite, and best of all they were careful to save my Radiant Heating System which was under the tile. Since the French Drain System was placed I have not had 1 drop of water coming into my basement. I am very grateful to Mark's ACM Company, and was able to refinish my basement without fear of water damage. I highly recommend ACM Basement Water Proofing to all who are having water problems with their basement.Posted on Google Maria LacosteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I chose ACM because of their "Best of Long Island" award, and I'm glad I did. Mark's crew (led by Joe) installed an interior French drain and a sump pump in our basement. Six months later, we've had no problems with water. These guys know what they're doing.Posted on Google Links2282Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I would like to say thank you to Mark and his team for their excellent work installing a French Drain in our finished basement. For years we had to worry about flooding if we got a large amount of rain in a short time. The entire staff was totally professional. knowledgeable, competent and efficient. They were clean and caring and after each day they protected the whole worksite. Without a doubt, we would recommend them for all your basement waterproofing needs.Posted on Google Peter WebbTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I called acm after finding water in the basement. Mark answered the call and quickly helped diagnose the issue. He guided me to check baseboard and sure enough a broken valve was causing this leak. It's good to find someone to help a homeowner without rushing to take their money. It's good to find a honest business man

If you have moisture or water in your basement, a vapor barrier is an essential part of a complete waterproofing system. A vapor barrier (also called basement encapsulation, foundation wall wrap, or basement liner) helps protect your basement and everything in it from water damage.
ACM Basement Waterproofing installs vapor barriers as part of our basement waterproofing for homeowners across Long Island, including Suffolk County and Nassau County. Call us today to schedule a free inspection and quote.

A basement vapor barrier is an impermeable material installed along the interior of your basement walls. Its job is to prevent moisture that seeps through your foundation from reaching the rest of your basement.
The barrier is installed flush against your basement walls. Any water that enters through the foundation is captured between the wall and the barrier, then directed downward into a French drain installed beneath the basement floor. From there, the water is transported to a sump pump, which removes it from your home entirely.
For Long Island homeowners dealing with seasonal moisture, high water tables, or persistent dampness, a vapor barrier is one of the most important steps toward a dry, usable basement.
For a vapor barrier, ACM uses a dimple board system, a rigid, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) membrane with a raised dimple pattern that creates an air gap between the board and your foundation wall.
The dimple board is installed directly against the basement wall, up to grade level or wherever water issues are present. Any moisture that seeps through the foundation is captured by the dimple board and channeled downward through the air gap created by the dimples. The water drains directly into the French drain at the base of the wall, where it is routed to the sump pump for removal.
ACM’s dimple board is available in white or grey to match your basement walls, giving it a clean, finished appearance. The dimple board is durable, rigid, and allows your foundation walls to breathe while still providing full moisture protection. For Long Island basements that deal with ongoing hydrostatic pressure, this system is built to perform long term.
Every type of basement wall is susceptible to water penetration, though some are more vulnerable than others.
Brick and stone walls are among the most prone to water entry. Over time, external water pressure can erode the mortar holding the brick, stone, or CMU together, creating pathways for water to seep into the basement. Many older homes across Nassau County and Suffolk County have brick or stone foundations that face this issue.
Poured concrete walls hold up better than block walls, but concrete can develop cracks that allow water through. Even without visible cracks, enough hydrostatic pressure will push moisture through a poured concrete wall.
Regardless of wall material, a vapor barrier helps ensure your Long Island basement stays dry and protected.
Moisture in your basement creates a chain of problems that extend well beyond a damp floor. Installing a vapor barrier in your Long Island home helps prevent:
A vapor barrier is an effective and important addition to any Long Island basement, especially if you plan to use the space for storage or living.

If you plan to finish your Long Island basement, you should waterproof the space and install a vapor barrier first. The vapor barrier on your walls acts as a protective layer, preventing any entering water from coming into contact with sheetrock, trim, wood framing, and other finish materials.
Without a vapor barrier in place, water will seep through the foundation and make direct contact with organic materials like wood and drywall. Mold and rot will follow, and the damage can destroy a finished basement, costing thousands of dollars in repairs.
Having ACM install a vapor barrier and waterproofing system before finishing your basement protects your investment from the start.
Yes. Even basements that appear dry can have moisture moving through the foundation walls. Water vapor is not always visible, but it contributes to elevated humidity, musty odors, and mold growth over time. A vapor barrier provides protection against moisture you may not be able to see.
ACM’s dimple board vapor barrier is made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), a material engineered for long-term durability. When installed as part of a properly functioning waterproofing system, it is built to last for the life of the home.
No. Waterproofing paint is a surface coating that can peel, crack, or fail under hydrostatic pressure. A vapor barrier is a physical barrier installed against your foundation wall that captures and redirects water into your drainage system. It is a far more reliable and complete solution for Long Island basements.
Vapor barrier installation needs to work in coordination with your French drain and sump pump system to be effective. Improper installation can trap moisture in the wrong places or fail to direct water where it needs to go. Professional installation ensures the system works as intended.
